In 2014, Family & Community Advocate, Beauty Influencer, Wife and Mother of 7, Kelly Hubbard battled with an allergic reaction which turned into a skin rash from a scarf she purchased from a very popular clothing store. The rash spread over her entire body from her chest down to the back of her legs. The rash made her skin look like a victim of 3rd degree burns. Needless to say, this horrifying experience sent her to emergency multiple times in which the hospital was not able to assist or give any reasoning for the cause of the reaction.
Within 1 year the seemingly allergic reaction caused by what we thought was a scarf led my mother to have a hospital stay of over 50 emergency visits, doctor visits and treatment visits. Within that same year she stayed in the hospital for months at a time. She received over 10 blood transfusions, a feeding peg tube (in which lead to her untimely death), loss of muscle control, and wrongly recommended chemotherapy treatments.
After spreading joy her entire life, she had to suffer and succumb to her health challenges and wrongful bed side treatment. A life changing experience for Kelly Hubbard and her entire family especially her beloved children. As a result of her continued declining health, her insurance was terminated because she was fired from her place of employment. In addition, to the loss of income, this mother also had her home stolen due to property over taxation and our family home went into the foreclosure. On top of facing our family homelessness, we now had plethora of overdue medicals bills that no one could afford. The disability we applied for was denied multiple times and finally approved before her demise.
Due to the financial strain in the life of the family matriarch, her eldest daughters Zsa Zsa Hubbard & Tracey Hubbard took on the responsibilities of their mothers’ finances, power of attorney, parental rights and household contributions. Those responsibilities included meeting with doctors, doctor visits, applying for social security and disability benefits, paying household bills, maintenance, personal care and support. After over a year & half of tortuous health unprofessional Kelly Hubbard’s final diagnosis was Lupus a life- threatening autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body skin, joints and/or organs inside the body at any time.
We strongly believe that if there was a Kelly’s Kids Foundation during the transition of Kelly Hubbard as her health was declining maybe she would have been an angel on earth a little longer however she is now our angel in heaven.
